Fly with us
Glider operations take place every weekend, weather permitting. Wednesday operations are take place on occasion, but contact us us before coming out on a Wednesday.
Visitors should drive to the terminal building at Brookhaven Airport and ask the airport staff to call us on the radio.
Prospective members must attend two LISA monthly meetings and have completed three prepaid flighs. A Membership Application should be filled out prior to the second meeting.
LISA has members who are FAA Certified Flight Instructors and volunteer their time on weekends teaching our members to fly. You don't have to have any prior flying experience to join. We're a club and not a commercial operation, so we operate on a first-come, first-serve basis. We enjoy introducing prospective members the joys of flying, but cannot take reservations to fly at a particular time.
LISA Club Members are expected to help out bringing the aircraft and other equipment out to the flight line, and put everything away at the end of the day. We've got two work parties a year where we wash and wax the gliders and enjoy a nice BBQ afterwards.
